The purposes of this position paper are to define primary care and to describe occupational therapy’s evolving and advancing role in primary care, including expansion of services into specialty primary care areas such as pediatric primary care and obstetrics and gynecology ( AOTA, 2018). whole person care to individuals and families in their communities. In addition, occupational therapy practitioners’ holistic and population perspectives allow them to be effective both as interprofessional health care team members and as direct care providers to support client, family, and community needs in primary care delivery models ( Leland et al., 2017). ![]() A few years later, the concept evolved to become known as the Quadruple Aim to include clinician well-being. This quasi-experimental pilot study tested a 2 week intervention aimed to address the Quadruple Aims while improving productivity. Appreciating a strong voice advocating for whole person health from the Samueli Foundation and Dr. Berwick, an early pioneer of quality improvement in health systems and healthcare, the Quadruple Aim expanded the goals of enhancing patient experience, reducing cost and optimizing population health to include improvements to the work-life and experience of clinicians and care teams that. Occupational therapy’s focus on meaningful engagement in occupations is relevant and vital to participation in individual, family, and community life ( AOTA, 2020c). In 2007, the Institute of Healthcare Improvement introduced the Triple Aim, a concept of improved patient experience, better outcomes, and lower costs as key to health care transformation. Building off of the Triple Aim articulated by Dr. Occupational therapy practitioners’ distinct knowledge of the significant impact that roles, habits, and routines have on health and wellness makes their contribution to primary care valuable ( AOTA, 2020b). Because of an increased focus on preventive population health and social determinants of health by health care organizations, synergy between primary care and occupational therapy is growing, with support for client-centered, 2 comprehensive whole-person care, health promotion and prevention, disease self-management, and quality of life ( Halle et al., 2018). The American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) affirms that occupational therapy practitioners 1 are well prepared to contribute to interprofessional collaborative care teams addressing the primary care needs of individuals across the life course. ![]() Misleading statements from customer service representatives.Unapproved withdrawals from a bank account.Exorbitant fees for their debt settlement negotiation services.Difficulty terminating an agreement with Freedom Debt Relief and obtaining saved money.Despite their positive rating with BBB, customer complaints indicate a history of repetitive problems, including: How do prior customers feel about Freedom Debt Relief?Īs of 2022, Freedom Debt Relief currently has an A+ Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating, with 373 complaints in the past three years. The Bureau also alleged that Freedom Debt Relief violated the Consumer Financial Protection Act of 2010 by charging consumers without settling their debts as promised, charging consumers after having them negotiate their own settlements with creditors, and misleading consumers about the company’s fees and its ability to negotiate directly with all of a consumer’s creditors. ![]() Properly equipped, the Edge can tow up to 3,500 pounds, which should be enough for small toys or a camper. The ST is shod with 20- or 21-inch wheels, which stiffens the ride considerably.Īt a more relaxed pace in the base model, the Edge is quiet and comfortable, which is more in line with its mission. The ST can hit 60 mph in less than six seconds, and its revised steering, suspension, and available performance brakes can confidently handle just about any curvy road. The Edge ST gets a 335-hp 2.7-liter V-6 (rated on 93 octane, again) that shuttles power to all four wheels via the same 8-speed. It tracks easily down highways and smothers uneven roads well, but tall wheels can harsh the Edge’s ride. The standard Edge rides on a four-wheel independent suspension that controls body motions well and its steering is precise. It’s hardly fast at about eight seconds to 60 mph, but it’s plenty of power for what’s an around-town crossover anyway. The Ford Edge is assembled in Oakville, Ontario.Īll-wheel drive is available on all Edge models, and it’s standard on the Edge ST with a V-6.īase Edge crossovers tap a 2.0-liter turbo-4 for power that makes 250 hp (rated on 93 octane, which isn’t very common), which is shipped to the front or all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic. The Edge Titanium is on the bleeding edge with a 12-inch vertically oriented touchscreen if that’s what you’re looking for. Top spec Edge ST versions ring in at more than $44,000 for power, grippy cloth fabric, and big 21-inch wheels. We’d step one level higher to the Edge SEL for its synthetic leather upholstery, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power-adjustable and heated front seats, and better options for about $36,500. The Edge SE checks in with a low price tag below $33,000 with front-wheel drive, which is a relative steal. Automatic emergency braking and active lane control are standard on all models. It earned a five-star overall rating by federal testers and a Top Safety Pick from the IIHS. Its safety scores are up-to-date, and then some more. The Edge’s basic design dates back more than a decade, and it shows. Same goes for interior materials, where the Edge starts to show its relative age compared to other two-row crossovers. The Edge offers similar stretch-out space to competitors-more than 40 inches of leg room in the second row-but the seats aren’t as comfortable as rivals in its class. Inside, five adults will fit for short- to medium-length trips. All-wheel drive is standard on the ST, mostly to help put its power to the pavement. The Edge ST returns with a 335-hp 2.7-liter V-6 that’s impressive in its might, even if it’s a little overpowered for the relatively pedestrian crossover. All-wheel drive is optional on every trim level with a turbo-4. Front-wheel drive is standard on all cars equipped with a turbo-4, and an 8-speed automatic handles shifting detail. The 2021 Ford Edge is available in SE, SEL, ST-Line, Titanium, and ST trim levels.Ī 2.0-liter turbo-4 that makes 250 horsepower is standard on all trims below the top Edge ST. ![]() When improperly written, it can also sound awkward and vague, especially when the subject of the sentence is only implied and not deliberately mentioned. ![]() As can be seen in the example above, the passive voice usually requires more words. This might be because doing so can make your writing more concise. Some people believe that sentences should be written in the active voice whenever possible. ![]() When do I use the active or the passive voice? Another clue to look out for is the absence of an object in the sentence, which can indicate that this is written using the passive voice, although it is possible to have an active sentence without an object For instance, "I am eating a pie" is in the active voice despite the "be" verb ("am"). ![]() However, it is still possible for a sentence to be in the active voice despite having a form of the "be" verb in it. One indicator that a sentence is written in the passive voice is that it comes with a "be" verb followed by a past participle. The object (cake) was the recipient of an action (baked), which was performed by the subject (Julie). The passive voice, on the other hand, is when the object is acted upon by the subject of the sentence. In the above example, the subject/actor (Julie) performed the action (baked) on an object (cake). The active voice is so called because the subject of the sentence is the doer of an action that affects the sentence's object. "Voice" refers to the connection between the subject and the object of a sentence, which is linked through a verb. What's the difference between the active and passive voice? This article gives a definition of both voices, as well as examples of situations when each can be used properly. It may sound strange to hear that written sentences have voices, and even stranger to know that there are debates on which of the two – passive and active – is the better option when it comes to writing. REVISED: The combination of these two elements weakens the argument.'When to use the active and passive voice in writing' Example: It is the combination of these two elements that makes the argument weak.Using forms of to be (e.g., is, are, was, were) leads to wordiness. PASSIVE VOICE: My first trip abroad will always be remembered by me.To change a sentence from passive to active voice, determine who or what performs the action, and use that person or thing as the subject of the sentence. Passive voice often creates unclear, less direct, wordy sentences, whereas active voice creates clearer, more concise sentences. In contrast, active voice produces a sentence in which the subject performs an action. Passive voice produces a sentence in which the subject receives an action. In most instances, put the verb in the active voice rather than in the passive voice. ![]() Whitaker RW, Norris DE (2008) Infrasound propagation, in handbook of signal processing in acoustics.
